The 1890 Wimbledon Championships was a tennis tournament played on Outdoor grass courts which took place at the All England Club.[5] Bonham Carter Evelegh took over as referee from Julian Marshall.[5] The rule for change-overs was altered to after every odd game.[5] There were 30 competitors for the men's singles and only four competitors for the women's singles.[5] The singles finals were played on July 7, and the men's doubles were played on July 21-23.[1]
